The beach
100 meters from the Resort guests will find the beach that, as well as being one of the most beautiful on the lake, is among the best spots for windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing. Moreover, behind the residence rise the woods of Monte Giove, an ideal destination for walks and starting point for fascinating treks.
Cannobio and its surroundings
Cannobio offers ample possibilities for entertainment. Football and tennis courts, cycle path and fantastic MTB trails, lido with public beach where you can practice water sports with the possibility of renting equipment and attending courses such as wind surfing, sailing, water skiing and diving.
Cannobina Valley
The Cannobina Valley, in the hinterland of Cannobio, is ideal for those who love trips and excursions. Starting from Cannobio for a trip in the valley, we recommend a stop at: Malesco, Santa Maria Maggiore, Re and Ponte Brolla.
Macugnaga
Another pearl of the area is Macugnaga, a town founded by Walser settlers in 1200 at the foot of Monte Rosa, where it is worth visiting the Walzer house museum and the Guja Gold Mine. For lovers of alpine landscapes, there are panoramic walks that open up the horizon to the magnificent glaciers of Monte Rosa.
Monte Tamaro
A few km from Locarno, in Swiss, you can easily reach Monte Tamaro by cable car. Once at your destination you can enjoy the beautiful panorama that opens up from its belvedere. One of the most beautiful pre-Alpine crossings, the Tamaro-Lema, starts right from this mountain.
Ravine of Sant’Anna
Worth the visit: the Orrido di S.Anna, the medieval church and Romanesque bridge. For a short trip a few kilometers from Cannobio, Carmine Superiore is ideal: it is in fact a very ancient medieval village perched on a rock spur, from where you can admire a good portion of the lake.
Vigezzo Valley
Val Vigezzo or Valle Vigezzo, is one of the seven valleys that branch off from Val d'Ossola and connects Italy with Switzerland. It is known as the Valley of the Painters due to the historical presence of landscape and portrait painters.
Villa Taranto
It is one of the most beautiful botanical garden on the shores of Lake Maggiore and it is worldwide known. In the 16-hectare park there are 20,000 plants of particular botanical value and over 80,000 flowering bulbous plants, while over 15,000 border plants cover the numerous flowerbeds.
Ascona
Ascona, located a few kilometers from Locarno, is a small but elegant Swiss town in the Canton of Ticino. Once Ascona was a simple fishing bay nestled on the shores of the lake, it is now a refined city between Lake Maggiore and the Swiss Alps. The city is an important cultural and artistic centre.
Locarno
The renowned Ticino town is also an excellent starting point for pleasant excursions in the beautiful surrounding valleys and on the spectacular mountains of the area. Noteworthy are the Maggia Valley, the Verzasca Valley and the Centovalli. The latter, which extends from Locarno to Domodossola, was already known since Roman times.
Verzasca Valley
Entering the Verzasca Valley, one almost has the impression of taking a leap in time, its particular geographical location has in fact favored its conservation in its original state, thus maintaining that rural aspect that is difficult to find in other areas of the region. The most characteristic villages are certainly Vogorno, Lavertezzo and Sonogno.
Val Grande
For those wishing to try their hand at more demanding excursions, there is the Val Grande National Park, the undisputed kingdom of nature, with luxuriant and varied vegetation. Given the characteristics of the park, it is a wild and impervious area, it is advisable to approach its paths with the utmost attention and if possible accompanied by expert guides.
Maggia Valley
Vallemaggia is the largest valley in Italian-speaking Switzerland. Lush green vegetation, pristine nature and a crown of majestic peaks. The enchanting atmosphere, the typical Ticino villages, the historical strength and the culture make Vallemaggia a magical place and a hiking paradise all year round.
Lake Orta
Lake Orta is an authentic gem set between the greenery of the Alps and vast hilly woods. The shores of the lake are dotted with small picturesque villages, ancient villages and small ports that tell the story of the fishermen's life, once the most numerous inhabitants of Lake Orta.
Borromean Islands and Villa Pallavicino
The archipelago of the Borromean Islands is located in the middle Lake Maggiore. The archipelago consists of three islands, an islet and a rock. The Pallavicino Park is famous above all for the over 50 species of animals that live there.
